Fashion and beauty brands love to support a cause and for International Women’s Day, and there’s a whole host of brands that give back to women’s charities and organisations beyond IWD 2023.

What is the International Women’s Day 2023 theme?

IWD is celebrated on March 8, and the International Women’s Day theme 2023 is still to be confirmed.

For 2022, IWD focused on #BreakTheBias, championing women’s achievements, taking action for equality and working towards a gender equal. Some of the pillars include creating workplaces built for women to thrive, giving women the power to make their own health choices and elevating women’s successes in creative and tech sectors.

Many brands support women’s causes for IWD, but there’s many that do it all year round – here’s some of them:

Avon

The Body Shop

For over 25 years, The Body Shop has partnered with the Tungteiya Women’s Association in northern Ghana to produce all of the shea butter it uses in its products.

The brand pays a premium for shea butter for the women to invest in community projects, including healthcare, sanitation projects and education.

In celebration of the day, Fossil collaborated with author, designer and recording artist Cedella Marley – daughter of infamous Bob Marley! The collection includes a rose-gold One Love Carrie Watch, beautifully etched with Cedella’s signature and a vibrant interchangeable strap. 

What’s more, 25% of all proceeds from the collection will be donated to World Pulse, a non-profit organisation that uses social networking to drive social change by empowering women

Fossil will also be making an additional donation of $10,000 to the Bob and Rita Marley foundation, which was founded by Cedella’s parents and supports the funding of the Jamaica Women’s National Football Program, The Reggae Girlz.

Astley Clarke

Astley Clarke’s capsule collection is a collaboration with Theirworld, a charity that fights towards abolishing the global education crisis to help reach gender equity for girls and women around the world. 

The new collection includes a bracelet, hoop earrings and pendant necklace, crafted from 18-ct yellow vermeil and adorned with white sapphires. 20% of all proceeds from the collection will go towards Theirworld.
