Gyrth Russell 1892 - 1970

Gyrth Russell was born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He studied art in America and then in Paris in 1912-14 at the Academie Julian and Atelier Colarossi. During the World War I Russell was the official war artist for the Canadian Government. He moved to Penarth in 1953.
One man shows were held at Howard Roberts Gallery in Cardiff in 1956 and two at Penarth in 1961 and 1966.
