Shirley Ann Owen

Her practice is primarily concerned with the landscape within the wider context of the effects of coastal erosion and climate change.

She was awarded Arts Council of Wales funding in 2008, during which she explored National Trust Sites at risk from rising sea levels. This work has had a lasting influence on the direction of her ongoing work. Over a period of six weeks in February and March, She travelled along the Welsh Coast making drawings and paintings with acrylic ink and paint on paper and on unprimed canvas.

Shirley is a member of The Welsh Group.

Her work is held in public and private collections in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, The Netherlands , United States, New Zealand and Australia.
